Ankara Üniversitesi, Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi

Lisans ve Yüksek Lisans eğitimini Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesinde tamamladı. 2006 yılında Gazi Üniversitesi, Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsünde “Kentsel Yaşam Sürecinde Rekreasyonel Katılım Sorunları” isimli tezi ile doktor unvanını aldı. 2002-2008 yılları arasında Başkent Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Bölümünde Araş. Gör, Öğr. Gör. ve Yrd. Doç. Dr. olarak çalıştı.

2011 yılında North Carolina State University’de Misafir Araştırmacı olarak Prof. Dr. Karla Henderson ile araştırmalar yaptı. Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Kırıkkale Üniversitesi ve Gazi Üniversitesi’nde Rekreasyon Bölümlerinde rekreasyon alanı ile ilgili akademik düzeyde Türkçe ve İngilizce dersler verdi. Rekreasyon ile ilgili birçok uluslararası kongre ve dergilerde bilimsel araştırmalar sundu. Uluslarası kongrelerde birçok defa en iyi araştırma ödüllerini kazandı ve kongrelerde davetli konuşmacı olarak rekreasyon ve istatistik alanında konuşmalar yaptı.

“Rekreasyon ve Kentlileşme”, “Spor Hizmetlerinde Toplam Kalite Yönetimi” ve “Leisure From International Voices” isimli kitapları bulunmaktadır. World Leisure Journal Editörler Kurulu üyesidir. Ankara Üniversitesi, Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi tarafından yayınlanan Spormetre dergisinin baş editörlük görevini yürütmektedir.

Pek çok farklı disiplinden (Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi, Turizm Fakültesi, Orman Fakültesi) akademisyenlerin bir araya gelerek kurdukları Rekreasyon Çalışmaları ve Araştırmaları Derneğinin (REKÇAD) kurucu üyesi ve başkanıdır. Halen Ankara Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi’nde Spor Yöneticiliği Bölüm Başkanı olarak görev yapmaktadır.
